The Inn at Halona, open all year round, currently comprises 5 rooms (numbered 1 thru 5), 5 baths & a central lounging / dining / entertainment area located in a three level, pueblo style building fitted with adequate handicapped guest access and corresponding accommodations; room 2 especially has been frequently occupied by Guests with very special ambulatory needs and related equipment. Three more rooms (each with its own bath facility), artfully furnished & decorated and knotty-pine paneled (numbered 21 thru 23) are located on the upper floor of the adjoining owners’ family’s Historic Annex, which also features a larger meeting & reception space (available to Guest groups for meetings, group breakfasts & other meals) and its own delightful, tree-shaded elevated deck providing guests with a better feel of the Inn’s neighborhood and of Zuni’s immediate & distant natural environment. All rooms are adorned with arts & crafts products from many current and past Zuni artists. Several private outdoor flagstoned patio areas, lit by charming lamp posts and assorted other lights in the evening, offer tables, chairs and other plush seating (weather permitting!) Lounging and dining spaces are available under patios & other covered areas, which are also suitable for catered outdoor meetings, garden parties, wedding receptions, etc…
Innkeepers & staff will be glad to recommend activities and corresponding services & resources available in the Zuni community, such as Zuni Guides & Cultural Interpreters, and activities and excursions offered by the well trained and knowledgeable personnel at the Zuni Visitor Center, and the community focused A:shiwi A:wan Museum and Heritage Center. We also excel and take great pleasure and collective pride in arranging professional or other types of group sojourns at the Inn. We do host (and favor!) group functions booking most or all of the Inn at a time, and we do excel at cheerfully and proudly accommodating their needs!
Full reception & catering services are available from the Inn and the adjoining company food store & kitchen within Halona Plaza, a general market.
The Inn is listed in the US/GSA Hotel Motel Master List as a FEMA approved safe & recommended lodging property for Zuni (Registered Property #NM0292); U.S. Federal Government travelers are advised to stay in properties listed in the Hotel-Motel National Master List. It is also listed as a lodging property offering a Government Rate to qualifying travelers on government business. Please call us in regard to this rate (2012 GSA allowance / Zuni, NM: $96 for lodging (actually HIGHER than our normal rates!) plus $55 for “Meals and Incidental Expenses”)
The Inn operates as a Bed and Breakfast in Zuni under a Lodging Business License issued by the Zuni Tribe in 1998. It is the only such facility in the Pueblo of Zuni. According to many travel guides, no other Native American community exhibits such an establishment, especially in regard to its location in the heart of Zuni, and as a direct and close participant in the community’s life.
Zuni is also conveniently located close to such landmarks as El Morro National Monument (35 miles to the East) and 38 miles south of Gallup, N.M.
